MOVE THE HELL OVER FIFTY, KILLIAN BRANT IS IN DA HOUSE!!!
Seriously guys, this book is H.O.T! This was only the second book I have read of Ella’s, so I was going in pretty much blind, and she did not disappoint.
I loved everything about it. Ella Fox is what we now call The Queen of Smut! And she bloody well earned that name! You’ll be fanning yourself in more places than you ever thought possible.
“I’ll remind you of how much you don’t want me when my dick’s hitting the back of your throat and you’re begging me with your eyes to come in your mouth”
I had no idea what to expect from this. I received an ARC the day before it was released and honestly? I hadn’t even read many teasers. The blurb was all I had. This is what is says;
Once upon a time, girl met boy and a love story began.
Their future was assured until tragedy struck and deceptions were made.
There are consequences to every action, and the Consequences of Deception are always the most punishing.
Sloane Evans lost nearly everyone that she’s ever loved, but losing Killian Brandt left a scar that never healed.
Four and a half years after turning his back on her, Killian steps back into Sloane’s life in the most shocking of ways, giving her no choice but to abandon her life and go with him.
Why would a man buy a woman that he hates?
Not everything is as it appears.
Love is beautiful, revenge is ugly, and lies destroy lives.
This book completely took me by surprise. It’s full of everything my kind of dark romance should be. A great storyline that keeps me turning pages, loveable characters, humour, a broken hero who is sex on legs and sex. Lots, and lots, and lots of sex. And Ella Fox knows EXACTLY how to bring that. The prologue had me flustered for crying out loud. And oh god, Killian’s tongue. What that man can do with his tongue gets my lady parts doing funny things while I write this damn review! I could NOT put this read down. I couldn’t get enough of Killian and Sloan. Their chemistry was intense from the beginning. The dialogue was hilarious at times. I loved Sloan and her solid personality. For someone who had been through so much, she had her head screwed on right, except when it came to Killian. She hated that she still loved him.
“I want to stomp my foot, scream, cry, rage and throw things, not to mention that I definitely want to give him the finger and tell him to go fuck himself”
Even at times when I wanted to punch Killian in the go-nads, I still loved him. Sloan had been through a lot and most of the time, Killian was a total dick. But I loved that Ella was able to show that even though Killian was the way he was, there was still a small part of him that showed there was still good somewhere. I was hanging for that part to come through. I could see it, and he couldn’t, and that became frustrating. But Ella took us on an emotional roller coaster that had us rooting for the two of them. I don’t want to go into the storyline, because it’s a great read and everyone should just experience it for themselves.
I messaged Ella half way through reading the book and actually said to her. If Consequences of Deception were a man, I would sing this song to him:
I don’t know just how it happened; I let down my guard
Swore I’d never fall in love again, but I fell hard
Guess I should have seen it coming; caught me by surprise
Wasn’t looking where I was going; I fell into your eyes
You came into my crazy world like a cool and cleansing wave
Before I, I knew what hit me, baby, you were flowing through my veins
I’m addicted to you, hooked on your love
Like a powerful drug I can’t get enough of
Lost in your eyes, drowning in blue
I’m out of control, what can I do?
I’m addicted to you!
That pretty much sums up the way I feel about this book.
I loved it.
