Noah Ryan and Jules Doucette spent every moment together, first as best friends and later as young lovers. The two had planned a life together—until one unspeakable decision tore them apart for good.
Twenty-six years later, Jules is still carefully living the life her mother planned out for her. She’s running her mother’s store, living in her mother’s house, following her mother’s rules, and keeping the secrets her mother made her bury.
Then Noah comes home and any sense of an ordered life flies out the window. Noah’s return does more than just stir up old memories—it forces Jules to see her life in a whole new way and uncovers secrets even she didn’t know were buried. Secrets that could easily destroy her world once more.
WOW okay. This book was just absolutely beautiful. I loved it sooooooooo much! Like so so so much. Absolutely amazing!!! It was filled with the most incredible emotions and had the most amazing ending. I honestly don’t think this review will be very long because I don’t want to tell you anything about it. Just asking you real nicely to read it. Pleeeeeease 😀
Sharla Lovelace has produced one of the most emotionally charged and beautifully written second-chance love stories I have read in a very long time. These second-chance books are my absolute favourite because when written well, they blow me away. Don’t Let Go was one of those books that will stay with me forever. When someone asks for a second-chance book recommendation, this one will be the first one I mention. It needs to go right up the top of your TBR list.
“I loved you,” I whispered. “I always loved you.”
In a nutshell, Jules and Noah were best friends as kids and then later on lovers when he takes off at the age of 17 and never returns. With a whole lot of stuff happening between the day he walked away until the present day, 26 years later, when Noah walks back into Jules’ life. The story evolves slowly from there and we get to piece together the puzzle that are those missing years. There are some amazing revelations, beautiful twists and incredible side characters.
I will say though, when Noah returns, he does so with another woman. But there is NO love triangle. In fact, Sharla has written this so wonderfully, that you can’t help but love absolutely everyone in this book. Noah’s new girl included.
Jules was a wonderful heroine. A single mother raising her teenage daughter Becca with some help from her ex-husband Hayden. The relationship between the 3 of them is another wonderful one to watch. The growth and development between these characters as the story progresses gives me the warm fuzzies.
Jules and Noah’s relationship is just another thing all together. I really don’t want to go into anything there. It’s just intense, beautiful, sad, heartbreaking and wonderful all at the same time. I just absolutely fell head over heals in love with their love story.
“Feel that?” he said. “How do we walk away from that?”
There were so many amazing lines in this book. And I want you to experience them all for yourselves. Those incredible butterflies, those feels, they make this book and really need to be read for the very first time during the story. Those “awwwww” moments are just so special and so wonderful and so … gah!… they’re just amazing. You just really really need to read this book. The characters, the storyline, the twists, the surprises, the emotions, the tears.. everything… it’s just the most perfect book.
PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT!!! <3 <3
