“Forget Bond and his ilk. I’d take a drummer in a suit any day of the week”
Eeeeeeek!!! I have found myself in a crazy love affair with new rockstars!!! This book was totally rockin’ and everything I was looking for. A funny, romantic, sexy and completely irresistible rockstar romance. Mal Ericson, you are one hellova book boyfriend!! <3
I first fell in love with this series a few months back when I stumbled across book #1 Lick at my local bookstore. It was a completely random buy but I fell so in love with the cover, so I had no choice but to bring that baby home. After I finished book 1, it got sidetracked and didn’t pick up book 2 until yesterday. And boy do I regret it! I think reading this series in order is good, although not necessary. Each book is a complete standalone but all the characters are interconnected as each book is about a different band member.
Malcolm and Anne’s story is a perfect contribution to the Stage Dive series and is told in Anne’s POV. When Anne’s roommate takes off after owing her money, Anne is left in a bit of a pickle. She can’t afford the rent on her own and therefore will need to vacate her apartment. After meeting at a party Anne wasn’t really keen on attending, Mal invites himself to move right on into Anne’s apartment after finding himself with no living arrangements and pays her rent all on one condition. Anne has to pretend to be his girlfriend. This is really where the fun starts.
Mal is an awesome character. He is soooo funny!! I don’t think I have laughed that much in a very long time. I absolutely fell head over heals for him.
“I’m not sure I can stick my dick in a woman who doesn’t even know who John Bonham is.
“Stick your dick in? I asked, my brows probably touching. “Did you just actually say that?”
“Make love. I meant make love… of course. I would never just stick my dick in you. I would make mad, passionate love to this sweet, sweet body of yours for days , no, weeks. It would be beautiful pumpkin. There’d be little angels, and birdies, and you know… all just hanging around, watching. Perverts.”
HAHA! honest to god, this man is so hilarious. Kylie Scott is so freaking talented I’m obsessed. Her writing flows so effortlessly, every word just makes sense and is so relevant to the story. It never drags. I had just a fun time reading this book I honestly didn’t want it to end. As ‘drama’ goes, there isn’t a whole lot. But it really doesn’t need it. I think if there was too much, it would have ruined the book. The humour and relationship between Mal and Anne is just so awesome to see unfold. Watching them navigate their way through mixed feelings as their fake relationship unravels is just enough to make this one of my favourite rock star books!!
“A man who knew what to do with his hands was truly a force to be reckoned with”
I have truly found myself another favourite rock star series and I am thrilled. I can’t wait to dive into the next book (pun totally intended 😉 )
